Just when you thought it was safet to go back on the street........

Cop an eyeful of AP's new E- delivery trike. I was told they are $20,000 each with insurance costing $3000. My source thought they are fitted with Security Cameras.

    Note that they are Airconditioned.

Before you ask, it is a cost saving exercise & like the bikes are legal & designed for footpath use including up & down Kerbs..

Maybe they are Mk2 for Oz?

Just think what it will be like when the Posties are all loaded up & leave the Mail Sorting Base & hit the road all together???

I hope they are Radar Gun proof as the only bikes I see returning to the depot are doing Warp Speed with head down & arse up.,but I doubt the Oz ones will ever attain Warp 10 Too much cargo drag in front you see.

    After thought.

If NZ fitted Cutter Discs under theirs they could subcontract to Councils for Nature Strip Maintenance & a savings for Ratepayers. Good idea hey??

I've been surprised at the number of EV charge points I am seeing in NQ, including one today near Innisfail.

I chatted to a postie at my place recently and they aren't too happy with the top speed as they can't do 80 kph, plus they haven't the range necessary to cover any extra shift should they need to cover another posties round.
Plus they're so quiet they surprise people.
And I haven't heard any postie blowing a whistle for donkeys years.
I can remember back to over 50 years ago when milkman in Kent UK, not sure about other areas but suspect the same, used electric milk floats to do their deliveries in. Seemed to have quite a long range and were on the road for around 6 - 8 hrs from memory. Carried a big load of bottles as well.
My mate and I often got a lift from the nearest town to home on one after a night out on the **** and being quite incapable of walking ......

My source said 12 hours battery life & he said they can do at least 60kph. Why would they wish to break the law?

Geezuz! That lot could take over the world.

I reckon a Police/Ambulance Siren would be the go, no good having a bell, & maybe a few Thunderclaps or Flashbangs thrown ahead of the "vehicle" .

Maybe there is room for a built in Toilet Paper Holder for those suddenly surprised & the Postie could hand out TP leaves as he sweeps by chuckling.

So Mick, you will be understanding & tolerant when you can't get past the gaggle of Posties all queuing up for a recharge? It wouldn't matter so much if all AP Charging Points were at a Pub I guess.
