Yes, it's frustrating when the only way to book is online, but there's no reception. Also, sometimes when you do get through the website says a place is booked out, but when you arrive there are lots of empty spaces. Maybe people book because they have to guess to predict their schedule, but don't arrive on schedule and the spaces are vacant. We found this at Lawn Hill Gorge, for example.

If you have a good reason, Qld will refund your booking money.
I was stuck at Midge Point once when there was a multiple fatality on the Bruce Highway and they refunded the fee.

Got my Commonwealth Pensioner Discount Card, so better read up on how it can save me money.
I wonder if British Off Road will give me a discount for tomorrow's service on George the Defender...
If they have an Old Mate's rate, do they have an Old Fart's rate?

I'm going to have to defer my retirement, a new hobby, photography, it's not as expensive as the Defender, yet !
    But it's trying hard.

You know you've turned into a stingy old fart when you go all the way to NSW to buy cheap beer from Aldi. Grey nomad stingy money saving habits
Aldi is dry in Queensland, so I'd never tasted this Storm stuff, but for $1 a bottle it doesn't have to be great, just drinkable.
I told The Navigator that for $1 a bottle I could afford to drink more beer, but she didn't agree with that logic.

I'm driving this week, so I chose a light beer.
