Police get all information on the person being checked, but only release information relevant to the enquiry.

7news say no more..
it wasnt the greens, but someone that spoke at a meeting organised by the greens...
quote from the article
In a statement overnight, Larissa Waters distanced the Greens from the comments.Quote:
The conference was called to discuss why the Government’s inquiry into family law should not go ahead but Moody went on to make the extraordinary claim on a completely unrelated matter.
and no i have never voted greens and i am never likely too, but i am getting pretty dam sick of the bull**** being peddled as news by the main stream media at present and 7 is one of the worst offenders imho.Quote:
“The Greens absolutely do not support he statement made today by Sherele Moody that firefighters are responsible for an increase in domestic violence during times of disaster.”
surprised harold holt wasn't banging a drum about it as well.
No there was a media interview run by the Greens lady where the other lady said the firies will go home an bash their wives. To be fair I don't think the Greens lady (Federal Politician) knew what the other one was going to say but it was a Greens media interview.
it was called a greens politician but it wasn't about greens policy per see it was about an enquiry into changes to family law...
there is more than as subtle difference no matter how it is spun...
its like saying beetrooters statement about those that died being greens is a national party policy statement
shakes head and wanders off
I have just come back from being deployed to NSW. Four day deployment turned into 6 days. I was at Singleton, Greta and Kempsey. I haven't beaten up my wife yet but I will be a bit wary when she comes back as she is being deployed Wednesday and back Sunday. Absolute rubbish comments apparently based on research from bushfire affected communities not Firefighters. As for working with Childrens check it is free for volunteers. Another ridiculous setup. I got mine on the pretense I would be going on a school camp with my daughter as a helper but then had to log in and get CFA on the card. Apparently the card loses its power or the children are different if that agency is not registered against your card. Ludicrous! At this point in time it is not a requirement of CFA for deployment but no doubt will soon be. [bighmmm]
I feel let down by the government in relation the dribble coming from them, however the communities we worked in and drove through treated us like royalty, clapping, tooting, waving, trying to give us money to put on the bar at the end of our deployment, someone bought us a box of chocolates for our strike team and when we tried to get home we called into Seasalt Cafe and Restaurant in port Macquarie and they wouldn't let us pay for our food! (This would of been for around 30 people) People would come up and chat wherever we went. It was amazing and uplifting. Poor buggers are absolutely spent and exhausted working on the fire ground or incident control centre. It will only end when they either get rain or there is nothing left to burn.
cheers Sheridan Strike Team 2324
Too bloody right too. I don't think you lot that put your life on the line to support us poor plebs (and I include coppers, ambos and nurses in that lot) actually quite understand how much most of us "poor plebs" appreciate the stuff you do. And in fact, when we show our appreciation for it you get all coy and modest. Man up and accept our thanks because we either can't ( or don't have the balls ) to do what you do.
Not sure how to reply to this. Thanks for the comments BradC. You are probably correct in stating that volunteers don't understand how much we are appreciated. I guess if I needed a fire truck to protect life and property I would be pretty grateful too.
I don't know how the police Ambos or nurses cope, they are excellent at what they do. Everyone contributes in different ways and I guess for different reasons. I know our team commented how awesome the community were, it was great to see in this day.
I honestly can't understand the outrage.
A lot of us need police and working with vulnerable people/children's checks just to do our jobs, it's just the way it is.
I'm a tradie, why do I need one?
We occasionally may work in a nursing home, day care centre, school or police station just fixing AC/electrical/ventilation gear and therefore may come into contact with students, residents, etc.
I've been an RFS member too, I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up earlier as you may be dealing with people at their most vulnerable.
