Ugly looking bastard though. Initially I wondered if they (15 off) were surplus to Japanese Army requirements after they were booted out of Burma but reading on, they were Post War stuff.

15 coming up for sale, or have been already, apparently.

Certainly glad my CX-3 doesn't run in the same family now.

Well that’s certainly a strange unit - could see myself driving one, it has a certain charm. 😁👍

I believe one of the US Generals said, the Jeep killed more of his drivers than the Germans did?

So if you drove the left hand drive in Aus,it would take off into the trees under brakes?

Well if they didn't work well,at least there would be a tree or a bit of scrub,or a fence to slow you down

One wonders if the Designer was German then.

The Australian Army used them Post War as well as during the war, I wonder how their figures for Jeep casualties worked out.

I know I know, I seem to spend a lot of time wondering. I also mentioned the War [Basil Fawlty on] I did, but I think I got away with it[/Basil Fawlty off]

The Czech built Tatra was a popular choice with German Officers, until Herr Hitler banned the officers' use, claiming they were killing more officers than the Allies.
The Tatra 87 was very similar to the later VW Beetle, but with a V8 engine hanging out behind the back axle. (What could be bad with that?)
It has been claimed that Ferdinand plagiarized the Tatra, when designing the Type 1

Actually, it looks very good imho. Silver suits it. A car before it's time as anything built, born in 1936 was.
