Ok. So as a mod you've done him a favor and not deleted the thread, but have ruled that any photo's would not help him to establish a fair market value?

Are you helping or hamstringing him?

I haven't ruled anything re pictures, I don't have that authority, without consultation.
I have viewed anumber of vehicles, for people wanting a pre-inspection, to determine if a vehicle is worthy of travelling to, for an examination. Photos I've taken of good or bad points have never been an accurate indication of the actual feature or vehicle. An honest, written report has always been more indicative.

Oh well not much more I can add without pics. I thought it was a fair and obvious question. It’s standard practice to provide pics to sell a vehicle IMO.

V8 Ian, I must say your defensive response makes me wonder. ...is there some kind of strange collusion going on? ...Now I need more than pics. I would need a test drive and an independent mechanics assessment to judge a fair price.

But obviously not much point showing any further interest here. Far from open honesty it feels like something is being hidden.

...pics tell 1000 words. It’s not just a saying.

You can wonder all you like and invent whatever conspiracy theories you wish.
I've simply stated that i don't believe pictures will add to the description that has been written.
Ultimately, it's up to Stu to decide if he wants to post pictures.

All you're going to see is a Land Rover that's spent most of its existence in a shed.

Pictures did nothing for the immaculate old Volvo I purchased unseen from a reputable person in Sydney

Described as ''in amazing condition'' the car arrived as a $200 rusty wreck with a sold as seen invoice on seat. I won't tell you how much it cost to buy and transport it.

    What cases would that be?
You've been here for five minutes, with most of your posts pushing a barrow.
What is your agenda and what qualifications do you have to value a vehicle?

No agenda. My case is that it’s up to Stu if he wants to post photos. What’s that got to do with you?

I might have only been on AULRO for 5 mins, but don’t assume a lack of knowledge.

That's question avoidance worthy of a politician.

I agree re the pictures, they usually give no actual indication of the condition .. just a rough guide such as has it been hit, bent, rusted, not how badly hit bent or rusted.
Conditions of such that words easily cover.

Recently I bought an old lens for a camera setup I've been wanting for years.
Hard to find lens at a sensible price(most in the near $1000 range) stupid money. The lens has a notorious reputation for a small rust spot on it due to the chrome plating, no issue in operation, just looks ugly and lowers it's value. But almost all lenses had this near $1000 price.
I've searched many places, incl ebay, and some sites that specialise in old gear. The site that specialises in old gear shows images, but they're generic, not specifically of the item itself. but descriptions are provided.
Anyhow, after maybe 5 or so years, finally one came on ebay for a straight up auction, no price limit, set price was 100 GBP, about 160ish Au. So I added my upper limit at $300Au.
I won the auction at about 240 then shipping.. was plenty happy, would have been happy for the item to come with the notorious rust spot at that price.
LOL! when it came, it was pretty much brand new, unused, and even the clear perspex type case was totally unmarked, as it no scratches/marks from handling clear/transparent plastic. This is a 20-30 yo lens.
No box, just the plastic dome case that the lens sits in. It must have sat on a shelf somewhere in the UK for 20-30 years or so.
The 3 pics of it on ebay couldn't show just how good the condition of the lens was .. I nearly cried.
Had to send a msg to the seller via ebay to thank him for it.

Last week bro went to look at a small runabout for his son(about to get his license). 6 pics on the sale site, car looked in good nic in the pics.
One look at the interior of which there were 3 pics, and we were out of there instantly.
Total waste of time, our thoughts went that if the owner wasn't willing to be up front all the way, what else is being hidden.
    Arthur.
