    Clive James Vale

I found his personal delivery to be too pompous but his books were brilliant.

It's a sad fact that Australians rarely give those of our Nation who go overseas and do well the credit they deserve. Tall poppy syndrome ? Jealousy ? Who knows. But to me that attitude holds us back, as a people. That is why I am not surprised to read what Adam Gopnik, from the New Yorker, has written about Clive James, under the title " Clive James got it right. "
