    Simple solution
Ban the use of auto pilot

How are all the other fully autonomous vehicles going, we don’t hear about them crashing into other vehicles
The RAC over here have been trialling a bus around South Perth since 2016 and down south in Busselton since the start of the year

RAC driverless bus experience a first for regional WA | RAC WA

Who gets charged if there is an accident?

Maybe you can just pass the fine onto Tesla who pay double and no demerits Tesla smashes into police car

When one sees the videos of Tesla drivers asleep at the wheel, one has to wonder about the intelligence of Tesla owners.

There is a slim chance he could have been admiring his 'thing'. or reading the Owner's Manual?
Reacting to changing Traffic Conditions is usually what keeps drivers awake. Or it used to.

That is "Ed Zachery" right, I've seen a study, and they found the more automated the car the more bored and unengaged the driver became.

Never be a problem in the Landrover, I'm always looking for safe places to get off the road and out of traffic in preparation for its next "mechanical episode". Never a dull moment.

That might help explain why older Land Rovers show up in so few accidents, percentage-wise, per number of Land Rovers on the road, compared to other vehicles. Or it could be the demographic driving these vehicles!

On that basis some drivers appear to have the full Suite of gizmos from the Star ship Enterprise.

They certainly know how to concentrate ones thoughts. Something to do with Icy cold Blasts of air creeping through the cracks & the bone jarring rides & the crap & vague steering I guess.

Most Perth drivers appear to be asleep at the wheel anyway so there'll be nothing different when they're behind the wheel of a "driverless car".......
