Our dog can tell us if a storm is coming well before he BOM dose, he is banging on the door wanting to come in side about 4hr's before it hits.[biggrin] He dose not like thunder.
Southern friends and rellies don't seem to understand that we can have 245mm in one day a few months ago and still claim to be in drought conditions.
I have been away for 3 weeks and needed to do some mowing . It was so dusty I was embarrasssed about the amount of dust blowing into my neighbours house so I put the sprinkler on for about ten minutes all over the lawn to damp the dust down.
We needed more rain during the normally wet first half of the year, but didn't get enough. Now we're in the drier second half and heading into the bushfire season. Rain is needed.

Thunderstorm has just about finished, but still raining. I will check the gauge in the morning, but Dubbo has had 8.4mm so far. Apart from the bunch of vehicles next door, on roads in the forest to my west there have been bogged in the last few days two fire trucks, an excavator, a bulldozer, two police vehicles, and a trailer that I know of. My normal road to town is impassable, and I am not sure we really need any more rain right now!
