Rain is forecast for almost all of NSW and Victoria this week. Hopefull, the end of the fires, and people can get on with with their lives.

Huge rain bomb forecast gives hope to exhausted firefighters - but the downpour will be so heavy it could cause LANDSLIDES

Our pythons return to the same place every winter, in the granny flat ceiling. I put some chicken wire up in the entry last year to try and get them to go elsewhere as their urine drips down through the ceiling boards and makes a mess. It stopped the smaller fellas but 'Big Sammie' returned and just pushed and bent the wire out of position to gain entry. A pretty amazing feat of strength, really!

I'm currently devising a different, hopefully effective snake proofing method to put into effect before 'Sleepy Season'DSCF1192.jpg.

Our solar upgrade is being installed tomorrow morning so I'd like it dry from 8-12 please. Send her down, hughie!

We have wired up our chicken house to keep snakes out, but that bloke must have come in during the day while the door was open and the chooks were out free ranging. One chook is sitting on eggs, and has one hatched chick, so that may have attracted the python, but the clucky chook is in a separate cage and fully wired, so it couldn't get them.
Anyway, he's gone for a long drive, and would need an Uber to get back, so we should be okay now. Send her down, hughie!

Good luck with the solar upgrade. It's the way to go, for sure. We have a problem with pigeons, nesting under the panels. The solution, apparently is to run gutter guard around the edge of the panels. The pigeons make a mess, under the panel and in the gutter. My neighbour has a high powered air rifle, which sorted them out once, but we have a bird loving neighbour next door now, have to wait until she is away.

It would have to be a pretty skinny pigeon to get under our panels.

Good one. but there are some who say a lack of ventilation under the panel, especially on a tin roof, is the cause of heating problems. I can't confirm that, we don't have heating problems.

There is enough air space for ventilation under ours. The panels also shade the roof, which is a bonus.

3.05 mm here overnight. Our dam will need x100 that to reach normal. (Somehow our dam can't exceed 100%, like government dams.)
