Because ‘reached out’ can mean ‘we called, they didn’t answer the call, job done’. It doesn’t say if they actually spoke to the person or not.

The rule at Social Security was that you were deemed to have received the notice when it was posted to your residential address. Or to a postal address if Australia Post did not provide a delivery service to your home. "We sent it therefore you got it."

Not to MV registrations/Transport SA here it doesn't Brian.

They tried that one on for a late rego excuse for us & it was later found it had been sent to their Port Lincoln office for processing as they claimed they were too busy in Adelaide to do it.
Why Pt Lincoln? Who knows, thing is their "System" didn't report a redirection so they would know where it was & they couldn't locate it.

Then I discovered a Date "Received In" stamp on the back of one of their forms which they had sent to me which the "hard of seeing"/visually impaired" staff had overlooked. Deeeeer.

Actually this case in point made for a long topic on 891 ABC Radio. (Matt & Dave). They (TSA) did apologise after their switchboard (891) lit up like a Xmas Tree. People all over had had the same experience. Of course they initially started out denying there was a problem. Stupid ****ers We then took to sending it 'Registered' each year but have had no problem for the last few years so have gone back to the normal postage [holds breath] We also had our Medical Practice copy it into their system for a quick retrieval if it goes off the rails again.

It was bad for a lot of people because as it was a Medical ok to drive declaration, people had to go back in many cases to a Consultant & you know how long that can take to get an appointment, especially when your licence is about to expire.


Public Servants my arse!

"Public servants". Complete misnomer that. Self servers would be much more accurate. Once they've got the job that's it and they'll do anything to protect their cosy position.
