Grumpy old buggers thread

I see my skin Dr every 6 months. Will be attending his practice on 1st July for removal of a Squamous cell carcinoma (or the remains thereof, as a skin slice biopsy already taken) on my right forearm. Has taken a few over the past few years, a couple of BCC and some solar keritosis.

Compared with my usual guy this guy uses needles that hardly hurt,and the area goes numb almost immediately.

While he does heaps of skin cancer removals,his main income is Boob jobs,Tummy tucks,collagen in the lips and on it goes.

Like Saitch said,i go every 3 months,not 6 or 12 like many,get them early is the go.

That seems to be the new way of doing things, my skin doctors offer the same while you wait day surgery. As your surgeon is so expensive maybe you can get a discount if you roll in some of his other services. [biggrin]

What suburb is your guy in?

Navy duties, Locks and keys and the perception of security and safety often makes me chuckle UNTILL its me[biggrin]


Running or riding about I see the odd huge fence or two with no or low side fence making the front one all for show.

Being a Anti Submarine type I know for a fact almost all half modem subs with a 1/2 decent torpedo or delayed launch rocket thing (if they exist yet :) would have me in Davy Jones locker before I knew what hit me[biggrin]


That said I had my bike pinched by ############ and I do now know the drug affected dad of a few neglected kids- Still grumpy [bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf] My trailer was stowed at a farm for a year or two. The lock on the hitch was a half decent one. I lost the key [bawl][bawl][bawl] Five minutes on you tube and that lock was broken very very easily. The trailer is now parked at home. I brought a good lock that might beat me for a while. I LOST THE KEYS.


Chat with the nice lock smith who offered If I cut the lock on the shackle side he could fix it for me for about $20.

My angle grinder reminded me about the Perception of security. The Cable cutter the bike thief used or my quick cut today reminded me security is not all its perception provides all those with Secuity[bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf] Hope this doesn't distress anyone. 99% of people are honest I find.

For reasons mentioned elsewhere, following a visit to my son in Yass last week, instead of the returning in the 110, I drove their D2 back.

The radio was not working. Basically because the battery had gone flat (this car does not get much use now that the oldest has a licence and here own car). I attempted to reset it using the code in the owner's manual. It did not work. And what's more, locked us out for hours. I asked my son for his help. And all was revealed. The code I was using was wrong. There are two owner's handbooks and audio accessory supplements in the car - some years ago one of the kids threw up on it, so they got a replacement (second hand on line). Both books had the code written manually in them. But only one referred to this car. And you can guess which one I was using! As the radio was locked out for hours, and I wanted to get home before hoppy time (which is early this time of the year), I had a very quiet trip.

Now I have been driving cars with radios for over sixty years, and have never had any attempt at theft, even though security was pretty rudimentary on some of my early Landrovers. In y experience, these security precautions have never been anything except an absolute pain! Anyone else?

Exactly,just like those security wheel nuts on D2s.Just an absolute PITA,nothing else.

I agree painful, I remember struggling to reset the radio on my D2 with the EKA code before finding the supplementary booklet JD describes, I also had the anti-theft wheel nuts and had a call from my mechanic asking where the adapter was, which I just kept inserted in the wheel socket.
