I guess Jonesfam must pass as he came back today.
"Traralgon South Fire Brigade officially received a brand-new ultralight tanker on Saturday after their slip-on vehicle was stolen and destroyed by fire last year.
On July 31 July 2024, CFA was called to a car fire in Traralgon South. When firefighters arrived at their station, they discovered the station had been broken into and the brigade's slip-on vehicle was missing.
The brigade alongside Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to the incident and found the burnt vehicle was the missing CFA vehicle.
Traralgon South Captain Pieter van der Leest said he would like to thank everyone who worked hard to get the brigade the replacement vehicle.
“We were pretty shocked and devastated that someone would break into the station and do that to a community asset,” he said.
"The replacement vehicle is a welcome addition to our brigade.
“We live in a very hilly area, and it is great for that sort of terrain. It is a great asset not just for the district but for the state as a whole as it is also able to go on strike teams.”"
On the bright side the fire crew I am in now just got a brand-new strike vehicle as well. The dual cab Defender 'Slip on' which is the same as above one stolen and burnt may go to Auction I hear. Only 40,000km and in micky mouse condition.
Warning- I may start a fire crew thread if it wouldn't bore everyone [biggrin][biggrin][biggrin]
Kudos to ND for joining the CFA and to anyone else who has done so, but watch out when attending to fires as not everyone may be happy to see you....Page not found - ABC News we had a farmer assault a volunteer fireman in QLD as he'd cut the farmer's fence to get to a fire, so the farmer punched him in the face, but got off on a technicality as permanent fire-fighters have authority to cut fences, but volunteers don't unless directed to do so.
Very sad to hear of two being ambushed and shot dead and one other wondered in the gun nut country who will not be named.
Promise to check before using the big bolt cutters. My nose got broken a few times in one game of rugby only once 40 years ago[thumbsupbig][thumbsupbig][thumbsupbig]
Bloke up the road from where Mum used to live was dirty on the coppers for cutting a chain he had across his driveway/road.. He didn't mind that they cut it, they needed access for fire reasons. No, he was dirty that the muppets cut it in the middle.
