I don't know why they do that. As a tennis player myself I know the ball comes through at knee to waist height and that's what I want to see.
Maybe TV directors don't actually play tennis themselves?
As a follow up, I have submitted feedback to Channel 9 asking for the cameras to be raised so we are not subjected to viewing bum cracks. So I'll be watching to see if anything changes.

Why can't all the TV channels set their volume at the same level? Then you wouldn't have to adjust the volume each time you change channel.
