    I did some work for Wartsila in Henderson WA a few years ago, they had a poster on the wall of their biggest engine and all it’s specs.
    For the life of me I cannot find the photo I took but found this link instead

    The majority of big marine diesels were made by Wartsila, Sulzer, Burmeister & Wain separately or in joint venture, or under their licence by other yards. Check how quickly Danish yards make those monster container vessels and wonder why Australian yards took years to build small frigates.

    A bit of trivia - HMAS Choules, just arrived at Mallacootta, has Wartsila engines.

    And Bigbjorn - I suspect that the largest container ship is a far simpler build than any warship - size is not everything.
