What was the name of the potato chip co in Sir Samuel Griffith Drive at the bottom of Mt Coo-tha? I was thinking it was Red Seal but am probably wrong.

Yes, you are correct. Simpson's Rd. Bardon, right at the foot of Mt. Cootha. Gerry bought a Range Rover new about 1974 and traded a very nice Statesman De Ville with Chev. 350 engine. He had a lot of Rover type troubles and was not pleased.

So whose was the chip factory at Herston. I can remember one there but not the name.

I visited Arnott's on Coronation Drive on a school excursion AFAIR.
I was shattered to learn that ginger nuts were the sweepings off the floor with ginger added to mask the original flavours of the variety of biscuits that were used.

Remember the Tasmania Chip Board at the Ekka. They were a must to have.

Blimey that was bit underhanded! I reckon Tea Bags are made from the sweepings off the floor as well. Not convinced otherwise by anyone else either.

When you think about it, there is a lot of "paid for waste" on the floors of these places so it has to be recouped from somewhere.

As a thought one wonders if the same is done for bangers?

Ian, I am pretty sure that was the Mynor factory. They made chips as well as juice and cordial. Can't remember the brand name though.

I thought the factory relocated to Mt Coot-ha/Bardon post '74 flood.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
