South and Western Australia followed suit, too.

I have not seen a big fat dark red or purple sav for years. Can you still get them? Where? I always much liked a proper sav in batter. Fish & chip shops these days sell Vienna franks not real savs. A sav in batter, potato scallops and a pickled onion. To dream of now I am diabetic.

No, in QLD a Cheerio is a Cocktail Frank or Little Boy, & a Port is your school bag or suitcase.
We speak proper English around here, Hey!

PS When I moved from NQ to Brisbane my dear Aunty spent years trying to get me to stop putting "Hey" on the end of every sentence.
    Didn't work.

There was a "Lolly Water" factory in Wattle St., Kallangur and a belt factory in Beattie St.

Let us not forget the delightful aroma of the Stafford tannery. Wasn't that something!

Not as good as the smell from the Bikkie factory on Gympie Rd.

Packers tannery at Stafford and Weston cakes and biscuits, Gympie Rd Kedron.
Did the aroma soften the blow of getting knocked off in the notorious 100 yard radar trap?
