The cane toads look very stupid, particularly after The Navigator has sprayed them with Dettol. All 2019/20 bushfire comments here.

Don't ever use that stuff! It has a residual effect on dirt, grass etc. and can give toxic shock to other creatures. It is a 'Feel Good' thing but killing 5, 10, 20 or so toads in your yard will do nothing to accelerate their eradication.
Dare I use this as an analogy as to how Australia's reduction of carbon output will affect the globe?
Also, more importantly, can your wife tell the difference between a toad and a Pobblebonk, especially in low light situations?

No, probably not. Her hatred of cane toads is highly irrational.

The SOP also states that the disinfectant Dettol® must not be used to kill cane toads as it is inhumane.
This is from the official RSPCA website page dealing with cane toads.

IF you are going to kill something make it as quick and painless as possible, A Good smack with a long handled shovel will usually squish a toad instantly.
Just make sure it IS a cane toad and not a native toad/frog Before you dispatch it.
