Can you tell me why you think that the letter from old mates brother is a Scam?
All I read was an account of how country folk deal with whatever mother nature puts us through "Quietly" without having to play the "blame game" and carrying on like pork chops like the city folk/suburbanites always do.

Why is it that most country folk will take "Ownership" of their own ****ups and tend to deal with whatever weather they are given and yet "Townies" always blame everyone else for their shortcomings and are forever whinging about the weather??

What are you lot on about ffs? Can you not read? It is Corryong Vic 3707 on the way to the Snowy Mountains And there is a sawmill there, Walkers. You lot need a visit to Specsavers.

Here is their phone number.... 02 60762044 Why don't you ring them & ask to speak to the bloke Graeme who wrote it?

Then you should be able to sleep ok tonight.

Apparently not, but thank god for google and cut and paste. Now we know Corrigon is in WA and the are 5 saw mills Corrigan, Texas.

Been through Corrigon a few times, nice little town. No saw mill but there is a 'Dog Cemetery'. Not to be confused with 'Pet Sematary' though when at the keyboard, furiously googling away.

OK. Here's the story. That diatribe has been used on the internet , cherry picked from the original scam , and with " Graeme " as the owner of a mill in whatever town is represented. I'm led to believe it originated in the USA, with Texas as the place. Open the link, and you will see there are 19 replies to that message. to see the replies, you have to subscribe/join the organisation that posted the original. I went through the motions, but it was obvious they wanted more of my private information than most would be happy with supplying. It is a clever [devious] method of either gaining information for other purposes, or conning people to join up with their financial dealings. With me so far? Now, the post here was a clumsy attempt to derail the thread on fires in Aus., which I believe has already incurred the wrath of MODS for political posts. Perhaps an innocent mistake, perhaps not. If the OP wanted to make a point , he should have had the courage to start a new thread. I'm happy to hear both sides of the climate debate, but unsubstantiated diatribe , like yours above, does not forward the denialist cause any more than the fools who glue themselves to things represent those who believe climate change is real. Want a genuine discussion, put it in the climate change thread , here or in CA. I believe the description of what has been attempted is called TROLLING. I could say more, but that's the bones of it.

Since you don't have to join to see the replies then no, it can't be described as a fiendishly clever plot to get your personal info by making you join up. It's a share trading forum much as this is a LR forum.

I think the video in this news report highlights how quickly things change - from peaceful to catastrophic in three minutes.

The video is in real time and only lasts less than 4 minutes - interesting and frightening video.
