Good stuff, look forward to seeing your pics/progress in the coming weeks.
Thank you Sean Jewitt, for ringing me and telling me "I know where your Landrover is." my reply "Really" . "Yes I have it, someone gave it to me in exchange for some work. I was looking on Gumtree for some parts and saw an ad asking for info. I saw the 3 dents in the front wing and the modified rear tray and knew it was yours."
Many phone calls , text messages and pictures sentit was confirmed that after 3 years of searching it was less than 50 kms away. Next morning with Land Rover hunter Shane we headed off in the very ordinary Defender to pickup the remains of my very special 3.9D series 3 . It was stolen in November 2016 as my high roof market shop/campervan with tools, spares, recovery equipment etc etc x10. I picked up the bones of the old truck with its pink rubber wing mounted antenna still intact the only part not ripped off. The first owner fitted it in 1982. We bought the truck in 1995 and smiled at it its weirdness. Its still there, even surviving an all over spray of matt black . Sean cleaned a lot of the black off which is how he discovered to his horror that he had no ordinary Rover.
Its going to take a lot of work to get it in some reasonable state. It starts runs and stops, its fine mechanically and will be on the road again soon

A bitter, sweet experience there.
Glad to see you got it back.
Did you let the police know where the Landie was located?
