How to Identify and Contact "Boutique" Recruitment Companies
Hello All,
Does anyone know of any smaller recruitment companies that are good to work with?
I was told by a former recruitment consultant - one who could actually give a rat's arse - that I should be approaching "Boutique" recruitment companies to assist with my job search. Unfortunately, the word "former" is applicable because he went from one company who specialises in government department recruitment to a new job with an IT head-hunting company. I am not an IT person so I no longer fit his area of interest.
When I asked for a couple of names of these "Boutique" recruitment companies he could not recommend any. Just told me to stay away from the big players as they are a "waste of time".
I did a couple of online searches with the keyword "Boutique Recruitment" and it listed lots of jobs in the retail clothing industry.
I have been in contact with Karlka Recruiting Group. I am also signed up with a couple of the biggies. Does anyone know of a "Boutique" humanitarian focussed recruitment company?
I frequently visit "Ethical Jobs"; however, they are just a listing service for jobs - they do not actively "recruit". Any ideas of a range of "Boutique" recruitment companies? Is there a better word to use as a keyword instead of "Boutique"?
There is a company called "Boutique Recruitment"! Unfortunately they are "... professionals who specialise in the placements of Executive and Personal Assistants" This is not my vocational area.
Kind regards
Lionel

How to Identify and Contact "Boutique" Recruitment Companies
Would try some key word searches around your area of expertise and sectors you are looking for. See where this leads you and make some calls to organisations you find and ask any positions going or where they might advertise.
Who is advertising on the site you found both employers and recruitment companies.
The big names will generally take your details and say nice things. This is due to their business model where they farm you and use key word searches to find candidates. You will be sent emails for positions that they say are a great match based on the key word but are irrelevant to you.
