Maybe you should have picked up some riot gear to take back with you, going on the media reports.![]()
Now tell me again where this Doom-alley is Jonesy? I need some excitement in my life & it sounds like it is just the ticket.
Also it sounds like the joint needs a permanent Bulldog/Rottweiler.

The locals would spear and eat a nice fat Rotty.
Really? Bastards!
I have always had big, mean, mad dogs. I have had a 65kg Rotty who like eating people, a couple of huge Mastifies who were mean as & a Belgian Shepard. Unfortunately, the Roadhouse, has guest accommodation so the loony dogs are out, can't have public servant guest being eaten!![]()
So, now it's me, a good torch & a fair bit of discretion. Funnily when they know I'm there they are not as bad.
Maybe 30 or so years of living there means something?
I do have dogs but they are just pets, though they do bark when someone is around.
It's not as bad as everybody thinks, it just goes to Poo occasionally & I have only very occasionally felt personally threatened, wouldn't like to be a Copper there though.

PS Did get my teeth kicked out in the 90's, silly of me!

I was in Doom off & on for work between 2001-2004. Back then they were making the entire town an alcohol free zone. Is it still alcohol free?

Is that really such a bad thing?
They can't blame your family Jonesy, they ain't there.
Doomadgee has never been alcohol free.
Since, 2004 I think, there have been alcohol restrictions. 2 X 30 cans of mid strength (or lower) beer per vehicle, no matter how many people in the vehicle. Vehicle is all modes of transport from horses up.
Bona fide visitors have an exemption whilst stopped at the Roadhouse but may not enter town unless under the limit.
In my experience it depends on what the Police Sargent is like on if the restrictions are enforce. The Sly-Grog runners do very well thank you.
The restrictions do help but there are a whole lot of other problems that do the opposite.
I won't get into the politics of the place but there is a lot that causes the crap that goes on.

Further to my "Excitement" post I've had a good shufti at the map & have decided you are too close to Salty Croc Country so thanks, but no thanks Jonesy, I'll give it a miss for now & probably forever.![]()
