Just the tail end of an old radio callsign I used to answer for a couple of years. Easy for me to remember, wasnt taken, and usually puts me close to the end of any list, as opposed to aadvaark.

Just joined a month ago and the name i picked was taken so i let my 6yo daughter choose. Its her favourite audio cd and after listening to it 100s of times travelling around australia last year, i think i could recite it word for word.
Hi,
Well, I started life as a professional musician, playing the drums funnily enough:)
Career change some years ago, becoming a Counsellor.
...
Mines a throwback to when I first started working with the IT industry, Back when EGA was standard and VGA was cool, I got hooked up by a mate of a friend of a pal who ran the roundtable BBS in perth. the bloke who ran it was heavily into medievil things and everyone who worked with the BBS had their own nick assigned. I did data security and system integrity type work as was considered the protector of the round table everything then had to be 8.3 complient for names so we had
KingArthr for the boss
LdyGwnvr for his missus and 2IC
and
Blknight for me.
I sort of liked it so I kept it. I use it everywhere I can and almost always include aus or OZ in it seperated by ._-' or ` and for those who remeber when arcade machines only let you have 3 letters for a high score BKN was me.
oh, side note, if you ever get a file from me with the file extention set to BKN its a text file or a zip file encrypted using blknight as the password.
Mine has been with me ever since I was knee high to a grass hopper ( not that much taller now).
My real name is Breen so from there it went to Bream and then Snapper. More people call me Snapper than my real name.
My Surname is Hiam, so Hymie has followed me everywhere since Primary school.
Surname is 'Tyers' so got called 'Retread' in the fire brigade when I was retained. Eventually the guys shortened it to 'Treads' and it has stuck :burnrubber:
