How interesting to read these posts, we were only discussing this subject a few days ago.

"Bundalene" is the name of a property (named by the previous owner). It's our "bush retreat" in Central NSW. We've had it just on 20 years now and it's where we go to escape the rat race. Both our children learnt their bush skills there and over the years we have built a very comfortable shack out of local rocks, constructed a hot water system out of an old 18 gallon beer keg, and built a (flushing) dunny.....and have had a LOT of fun doing it.
Happy hour sitting on the verandah watching the sun set and the black cockatoos flying past and the wallabies is just the best.
    Cheers

Tempest is the internal code name used in Solihul for the Discovery Series II project.

So since I have a V8 powered Discovery II, the name "tempestv8" came about.

The internal code names for the V8 engine was Thor (and for the TD5 engine was Storm)

But "tempestthor" didn't sound right.... so tempestv8 it was.

"Shonky" is my nickname in some circles, and came about because someone couldn't be bothered pronouncing my surname (Carnegie-Smith) so I got "hey you... umm... Shonky-Smith!"

From then on, I was and am, Shonky.

It is NOT because I am dodgy or shifty!

Looking back, wish I had been a bit more imaginitive , though I'm sure some folk could coin a few having been on here a few years ( oh and I'm not asking them to either )

BBC came from my baptism in with my Mother Hash, the Maputo Hash House Harriers (MH3).

For the yet to be informed, Hash House Harriering is a collection of drinkers with a running problem, generally comprised of expatriates, that solve their running problems by getting together, drinking, and sometimes running.

Usually bawdy and illegible, ritualistic, and normally nonsensical; best way I could put it.
