Appears Honda is heading the same way![]()
I am surprise JLR are still here, with the tiny volume of vehicles they sell.
But i suppose at a guess, they would be making good money, based on the new car and dealer servicing and repair costs.
Where Honda are more into the garden variety car where there is huge competition.
In fact if you look at Toyota, they are probably the smartest of them all,and the most experienced with Hybrids, which are the next big thing. They have been manufacturing them for over 20yrs.
And their overall sales in Aus,and many other countries speak for themselves.
Do not confuse volume of sales with profit. You can sell lots and still make a loss
Have worked with too many businesses over the years where the first thing you have to do is refocus management to profit not volume as the initial step to a return to profit and a future
This can be hardest where there are too many people in management who have come up through a sales focused career as they have been trained to go for volume. They have to understand the volume targets they were given were put together by someone who understood profit and the volume target was a product of this
This can require a few sacred cows to be sacrificed which is perhaps even harder than management understanding profit is king not sales
