More importantly Covid positive people are kept in a special section on the opposite of the facility well away from non positive people - quarantine within the quarantine center.

The authorities bang on all the time how well they have done but the only positive thing that was done was to shut the international borders very early on - but then they allowed the borders to leak like a sieve. All outbreaks have been caused by incompetence, and vaccine resistance has been caused by mixed messaging - we need to get competent with what we are doing rather than relying on good luck - that is all we have had had.

Hotels are for tourists, not infectious people.

I bet that plays Merry Hell with the ears popping. It'd be worse than fast depressurising in the old DC-9.

Well my Mum is 93 and lives at home by herself and is basically self sufficient.

Still no Covid vaccination yet younger more mobile people can get it. Her doctor still has not been able to get vaccines and my Mum is only comfortable going there to get it - very difficult for her to go anywhere else. She had been holding off getting the flu vaccine in case the Covid vaccine came in but gave up waiting so went and got her flu vaccine this week.

Her much younger brother who is in a nursing home has already had both shots, which is great but the system does not seem to be offering much in the way of help to independent elderly people who are in the most vulnerable groups - other than see the local GP which she does as a matter of course anyway.

It is little wonder people do not have faith in the system.

It might be the GP unfortunately, my mum who also lives alone got her shot at the GP down the road in Bowral a couple of months ago, I got a shot within a week of booking here at my practice in Yass.

I started trying to get vaccination as soon as I was eligible (1. Finally, last Monday I was able to get a booking for Thursday next week - and this was a cancellation.

Yes it all appears to be all unraveling with "well meaning promises" to the contrary at the beginning of this & hanging on to the hope a VAX would be available within the year, & we all wished that it could be like "tomorrow" as a year simply seemed to be sooooo far away. But of course realistically it could never have been like that but now we do have it there appears to be a general hesitancy/resistance to proceed quickly. WHY? Pettiness & some disorganisation & selfishness has raised their ugly heads all over the world & each day things appear to getting worse, not better in OZ as if going backwards was part of the plan. Complacency has also snuk in now we appear to have got the upper hand, as it were. Are we going to fall at the last hurdle & come crashing down? I sincerely hope not.

Mr Bee can only look after Mr & Mrs Bee & bugger everyone else with their negative stances.

    I rest my case M'lud .

    EDIT.
Just found this online from the Guardian UK. Gives an idea of the selfishness & wants of patients there. Or impatiences.

Patients are short-tempered and not happy waiting for anything … They want letters. The latest one was a request to speak to a GP because he needs a letter to confirm anxieties that cause him a problem in long queues – because he wants to take his son to [Southport amusement park] Pleasureland and does not want to queue.” Jan Crowshaw, GP manager

Couldn't give a flying **** about the overworked other persons involved.

You know - masks don't work, vaccines are Bill Gates mind control, mRNA vaccines change your DNA, there's no such thing as COVID/there's been no deaths from Covid and it's been covered up/there's been millions of deaths from vaccines and it's been covered up ....

It's funny .... like in the first lockdown, 99% of people are doing the right thing but I saw a surprising number of people today who were out without masks: they must know it's now compulsory so why do they think that they're exempt? And masks have been compulsory on trams for months but there's been a consistent element - about 2% - who don't comply. I actually said something to a person on the tram on Wednesday who wasn't wearing a mask, given that there were both active cases and exposure sites in the suburb we were in and it was clear at that time that we were about to go into a lockdown.

Yes - they had him next door to a person who was Covid positive (who was apparently themselves infected by being housed with an infected person), infected him when providing food to both and then released him without further testing.

Aerosol.... is it's primary made of transmission.... so why are we surprised the inmate of an adjacent hotel suite gets infected - from his neighbor, during feeding time ?

Even using / flushing a toilet will generate a miasmic mist... which inter-connecting Bathroom extraction fans will transfer...
And since faecal matter contains more than it's fair share of the virus, "Wind is a worry...."

Didn't realize that ? - The Powers-that-Be should have listened to the Con-Theorists, who've been saying "Its an aerosol" for a Very Long Time. Since early last year.
