The Melbourne family that went to Jervis Bay had the Delta variant. All other Melbourne cases have the Kappa variant.
'BBQ man' and his wife in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney also had the Delta variant. Are they linked?
Jervis Bay has a naval base and links to the ACT. Some people, including military and diplomats, do not have to go into HQ to enter Australia.

I reckon an outbreak from hotel quarantine in Sydney could be behind this virus being picked up on the NSW South Coast and being taken back to Melbourne.

Just in case we didn't have enough concerns, there is currently an outbreak of Rhinovirus, the most common viral infection in humans.

I reckon Nature has decided its not going to take it any more and is fighting back.

I'm doing my bit. In the last month I've had the Influenza vax, the AZ Covid first jab and a booster for Rabies vax. Feeling moderately protected.

The Sydney Delta variant , after genome testing , was found to be a different strain to the Melbourne one. Two families in Melbourne have the Delta variant [ different strain]. The second family caught it from their child, who went to school with the child of the first family. Jervis Bay Naval base is primarily the Officer Training establishment of the RAN. Any Military Officer or Diplomat would not enter Australia via Jervis Bay. Almost as good as the Chinese Navy secretly entering Sydney Harbour , but not quite.[bigsmile1]

The Gnome sequencing has shown this Delta variant in Melbourne is not linked to any Covid virus previously known in Australia - so the question remains where did it come from and how did it get into Aust - some experts think it has come in via return travellers going into quarantine and not detected during the entire process.

So no links to the missing person in the Sydney outbreak a while back.
