Latest news from the Qld premier. ALL Queenslanders crossing the border will need a border pass. In effect, the border is closed. For Queenslanders, information on coronavirus can be found here. Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Health and wellbeing | Queensland Government

Queenslanders can also join the "Care Army ", just like we joined the " Mud Army " after the 2011 floods.

In NSW the police will be using number plate recognition to determine if people are travelling where they should not be. Not sure if that means the overhead speed cameras on the freeways that measure elapsed time as well as the number plate recognition in HP cars that is usually used to flag expired rego.

Pretty easy for the copper to find out where you are from from their drivers seat and question you, if you are on the road.

Brisbane people have been told not to drive to the Sunshine Coast, without very good reasons, now the Gold Coast has closed their beaches. At present it will be warning only if it doesn't stop fines will be issued. Fair enough, we have had good warning.

Unsure about other states designated as '18' as shown in that graphic, but WA enforces a 2 person gathering limit except in limited circumstances - families, weddings & funerals. The exceptions in WA are probably no different than similar exceptions in other states.

I was wondering about that too - I will probably make my first trip to town for three weeks next Wednesday, and I am due to pick up some tablets for my dog from the vet.

One of my sons has a mate who is a detective. He knows a lot of road police as he worked with them until recently.

He said, today, don’t whatever you do go out of your local area this weekend without a very good excuse or they will fine you. They will not only be onto number plate recognition, and the address on your license, but if you make up some kind of storey, they will check it out. They are out to fine as many as they can.

I am still trying to work out what “ local area” is.
It probably depends on what the policeman at the particular time thinks.
So can I go check on my elderly mother who lives about 30K away?

    Maybe,maybe not,I don’t know.

One of my daughter in laws wants to drive up to the Sunshine Coast hinterland to check on her elderly parents as well. They need help around the home.Presumably that will be OK,but who knows?

Oops, just saw Micks post.Looks like we can, until they change the rules again.
