Definitely should be tested if you have even a mild symptom, but anyone who is 'concerned' can be tested.
I didn't have any symptoms yesterday, but they said I was welcome to be tested.
The number being tested has dropped, which is one of the reasons they are concerned about a possible 'second wave', as people become complacent and think its all over and testing is unnecessary. Without testing, they can't know who is infected.

The problem with Needham, who produced, if I recall correctly, 16 volumes on the technology of the Chinese, is that in every instance he claimed that the Chinese produced things first that in reality probably arose separately in different places at different times. Ditto for vaccination - they found that slaves from Africa had undergone it before they arrived in the US, how would the idea have travelled from China to the west coast of Africa around the same time as it probably arose in China?

Trading ships? The Chinese trading ships have been sailing around the world for a very long time, including Asia and South America, well before the Europeans turned up.
That's just a wild guess, of course.

Actual scientists who have studied bat coronaviruses in China for 15 years estimate up to 7 million people a year are naturally infected.

You may note that not once in that link does it say to just “rock on down and get tested”.

It clearly states to go be tested if you have symptoms or concerns you have been around somebody that has.

It continues to highlight Isolation... not galavanting around the countryside. Corona Virus and to keep hygiene and social distancing foremost.

Every test takes up lab time, time best spent on testing genuine concern cases.

Now thanks to recent “look at us we’re protesting too” events taking place across the country, there is likely to be travel restrictions in place for another 2-3 months in some states. We haven’t physically seen our Son for 4 months as he can’t cross the SA/WA border and then return to his work. Now it looks like he won’t see his baby until September.

This just proves how ****ing stupid humans really are. Their protest (riot?) gained nothing, not one single thing, yet has alienated a huge portion of the population with their actions.

It’s this selfish stupidity that will drag the overall population down.

Unfortunately the BLM protests probably will trigger new cases - but they took place in all of the States, not just Vic and NSW.
You only have to go down the street. I don’t think it’s limited to Vic and NSW but certainly happening in Melbourne - people have fallen back into their old habits very quickly and I would fully expect a second wave here.

Here's the relevant paras, so I'd guess that staying home & inside means more money and viewing time spent online.

America’s billionaires saw their fortunes soar by $434 billion during the U.S. lockdown between mid-March and mid-May 2020, according to a new report.Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg had the biggest gains, with Bezos adding $34.6 billion to his wealth and Zuckerberg adding $25 billion, according to the report from Americans for Tax Fairness and the Institute for Policy Studies’ Program for Inequality.

According to the report, the net worth of America’s billionaires grew 15% during the two-month period, to $3.382 trillion from $2.948 trillion. The biggest gains were at the top of the billionaire pyramid, with the richest five billionaires – Bezos, Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett, and Larry Ellison – seeing combined wealth gains of $76 billion

I'd guess they won't be applying for JobKeeper.

    Yep you're right there.

I guess I'm guilty myself as today I went for a run with the Gold Coast MG Club .

None of us really practised distancing but there was some stupid elbow bumping happening , as if that excused the lack of distancing.

In Canungra at lunchtime the town appeared just like any other day with people lining up at the take aways getting their pies and pasties, toasted sambos and coffees.

    Old habits back very quickly.
