I see the bloke in Victoria who is positive and attended the march there actually had symptoms before, so the Victorian chief medical officer said they believe he got it before the March and his symptoms developed later. Symptoms take several days to emerge after becoming infected. He wore a mask to tge march, so hopefully he didn't infect anyone else.
I haven't heard of any confirmed cases any where of someone getting it from attending the marches so far. Looks like News Corp will be denied the chance to run any more scare stories.
It usually takes about 2 weeks for the symptoms to emerge and it has only been a few days so far since the marches so it is WAY too early to say how much damage these marches have done to our so far rather good virus contingencies.
As for Old Mate that had the symptoms PRIOR to the march and yet still attended, Well what a self centered thoughtless ****head he is and "Hoping" that a simple mask will have prevented him from infecting/endangering other people at that event is clutching at straws don't you think.
I didn't go to any march, so I don't know.
One of our grand kids went to the Brisbane one and said it was great that the Qld cops handed out masks to people who didn't have one, encouraged people to use hand sanitiser and social distance, directed traffic and generally did everything to keep people safe. No one was charged with anything despite 30,000 people attending. Bit of a contrast with Sydney where the cops pepper sprayed 80 people waiting for trains at Central Railway station.
Sounds just as safe as going to the football or to a shopping centre. Shopping centres I've been to up here are very busy, but people are taking precautions.
I read that symptoms are likely to peak about 8 days after infection, so we should know this weekend.
Meanwhile Rose Bay Public School in Sydney is shut down today, the third Sydney school in a month. Victoria has also had a rash of cases. Its no wonder the other states and territories are holding off opening their borders to NSW and Victoria.
I went to the local doctor today and they let us wait inside, rather than wait in the car park, so that's a good sign things are improving.
