In short, they didn't do their time in quarantine but were granted an exemption one week into their 2-week isolation due to the death of one of their parents. Sounds like there has been a massive slip-up in the process of managed isolation where questions weren't asked and protocols were not followed. I hope whoever was responsible was chewed out over this. Certainly lessons are being learned.
Questions now over whether masks were worn on the flights to get here and where they got it from.
There'll be a lot of ****ed off kiwis if there is an outbreak due to the stupidity of some involved in what we have been assured is a strong process. Yeah right!
