Some critical AC systems already use ultraviolet light in the return air plenums for virus and bacteria control, e.g. Red Cross blood banks.
If this is proved, UV tubes will become more widespread.
UV light is fantastic except if it is on you!!! UV-C is a known carcinogen for human skin and is dangerous to your eyes!
I am using a UV C light to help clean rooms, items and furniture. It adds a need to ventilate after the fifteen minute light Zapping as it produces ozone gas.
Virus transmission is reasonably well understood and reasonably easy to control. Noting billions per year spent in hospital for infections controls yet it still occurs at times proving or suggesting Bacteria and Virus are perhaps better at surviving than we are at killing them[bighmmm]
Phillips has a good summary " A word of caution
UV-C lamps present minimum risk when used by professionals who know how to use them. They must shield their eyes and skin to avoid light damage and severe injuries to the eyes and skin. We advise customers to exercise caution when selecting equipment and look for evidence of third party testing as well as certification of device materials and electrical components by well-known organizations such as NSF, UL, CSA, DVGW-OVGW or other international requirements as applicable.
At this moment, none of our UV-C lamps are certified or approved under any applicable laws as a medical device and as such, Signify and/or any of its group companies do not currently intend for them to be used as medical devices anywhere in the world.

This is what I would've expected - no proof of anyone citing conspiracy theories as a reason for refusal, incorrect information being given to residents by people probably provided by a labour-hire firm, no evidence for "refusals" and as the resident said:
"The resident replied: “We don’t have any symptoms but we can get tested,” but was still not given a test kit. The first worker told him: “Please make sure you maintain inside please,” before the pair left. The interaction lasted about 30 seconds.
The resident, Dave, who asked Guardian Australia not to include his last name, said he was concerned this interaction would be counted in the test refusal figures.
“There’s no clarity right now so we don’t know,” Dave said. “We don’t know what’s being counted in refusal, what’s being miscounted ... There is no detail behind what anybody’s saying so I can’t tell.” He said that after the interaction he took his family to be tested despite being told it wasn’t necessary."
Jenny Mikakos really does need to step down - it's like having our own Donald Trump.
I've been wearing a mask whenever I leave the house and the reactions have been bizarre - one guy was staring at me so aggressively I thought that he was going to attack me.
Lots of people cross the street, presumably in the belief that if I'm wearing a mask I must actually have COVID-19, rather than trying to avoid getting it.
