probably but where is that written?

As has been amply demonstrated by events, the problem with this virus is how infectious it is. It seems likely that the entire Victorian outbreak, which has seen thousands of cases and will eventually lead to hundreds of deaths has followed from a single guard at a hotel breaching quarantine.
It only takes one person to carry it from an outbreak area to somewhere unaffected and we have real trouble. OK, there are only a tiny proportion of idiots in this country who think that their freedumb is more important than public safety, or are so ignorant that they either don't believe the long established (1890s!) theory of infection or don't believe in mathematics. But it only takes one.
According to the VIC Government You can leave the house for the following reasons,
Shopping for food and other essential items, Care and care giving, daily exercise and work or study.
Driving 32K's for a takeaway dinner isn't mentioned anywhere[bigwhistle]
Getting a takeaway dinner isn't shopping for food it is going out for a meal So it looks like Old Mate will not only have to pay the fine he will also have to pay the court costs as well when he looses his case[thumbsupbig]
This is a good study on real numbers ( My thoughts it seem good science ) on the real number of cases . Happily we can assume I think we are still doing a little better than some other countries on a number of factors. I have assumed 10 time more than the documented case numbers. It may be close[bigsad]
"There are many people who are infected with COVID-19 but never tested — they are known as undocumented cases and contribute to a silent, stealthy spread of the virus.
How would you react if you knew there were many more infections in Victoria than we knew about, say a daily rate of 900 rather than 300?"

Sad to hear QLD case. Hope it is contained at one.
right on schedule....

They both travelled together recently, including returning to Brisbane from Melbourne on the 21 July via Sydney. They travelled on flights VA 863 and PA977. The Queensland Health contact tracers are identifying close contacts from those flights.
One of them works at Parklands Christian College and you will have seen that families were notified of the potential exposure last night. I understand an event that was planned last night was cancelled and now that the school is closed as a deep clean is going under way. Close contacts at the school are being identified. Testing capability will be set up at the school and be operational this afternoon. Rapid testing capability will now be deployed right through the region.
These young women have gone about their business within the communities that they live in and so there will be a large amount of contact tracing to be done, largely within the Logan and Springfield areas, including shopping malls, restaurants and a church.
Our contact tracers are doing that work right now. There is also a number of close contacts in both of their households. That will now be ordered to quarantine.
Miles said the most important message was for anyone with symptoms in the southern suburbs of Brisbane to get tested.
He said Queensland had responded to situations like this before, and would do everything needed to stop the spread of community transmission.
The whole of our system will be mobilised ... We have seen in other states that the most important thing, the most important thing in the period while we see if there is any other community transmission, is making sure that nobody in an aged care facility is exposed. This is clearly an evolving situation and we will do our best to provide you with information as we have it to hand.
But today, a lot of people will be interviewed by a public health staff and in some cases by police. And it is absolutely critical that everybody we speak to is fulsome and honest with our staff.
The impacts of breaking Covid rules and being dishonest and exposing people to be virus can be massive. We may have to, in addition to closing schools and locking down aged care facilities, we may need to close shopping centres and restaurants and churches. That’s the kind of impact that people can have here. So it is absolutely critical that every person we contact, every person we speak to provides us with the information we need and quarantines if they are requested to do so.
If there is anyone in any doubt as to whether they may have been exposed to this virus, they must go and get tested.
The "deep clean" is largely physiological reassurance. That said I do like my UV-c room clean, UV-c air sterilizer and other bits for my work for all nasty bits we know come into my work every day. [biggrin]
Hope the contract tracing is more effective than here in Vic. I know a case was near me at a pool/gym I was using for Rehabilitation. How close was never known and DHS as far as I know had no contact with any of us who where at the place almost daily.
Not chucking stones. Think we need to improve some areas to help control and hopefully emilinate the virus untill a vaccinee is avaible. ( I will throw a stone in Current affairs one a topic:rulez:[biggrin][biggrin][biggrin])
Seriously hope QLD contains it fast and WA doesn't get palmed off its closed boarder [bigwhistle]
Wanting to just say here that I REALLY hope that the QLD issue is well in hand and will be an anomaly...
What everyone on the only planet we have needs to understand is that the closer we come together, the easier it is for #exotic issues to be shared amongst the population [not blaming covid but all the things that come with global interaction, come with global interaction]
