ie. Using the pandemic to buy into peoples fear by creating division and making those that live on the opposite side of an arbitrary line the other and therefore somone to fear purely as a ruse to bolster political standing prior to a state election.

Simple fear mongering for political gain is hurting innocent peoples lives as outlined in various posts and links above.

Denying access to emergency medical cases is unconscionable.
"Queensland hospitals are for Queenslanders" laid it all bare for everyone to see.
Making access easier is a step in the right direction but still insisting on two weeks quarantine from those that live as close to Brisbane as the Sunny Coast when accessing medical help is ridiculous.
Sorry, but I don't accept that.

    Meanwhile, in Canada.

Professor Furness believes the border will have to stay closed until at least March 2021, when either a vaccine or herd immunity in the US will cause cases to decline.
"A vast majority of Canadians support keeping the border closed," he said.
"There is pressure from Americans who want the border to open, however, their self-awareness about risk and mitigation of COVID-19 is a lot lower than ours."

As coronavirus COVID-19 rages next door in the US, Canada hopes to avoid disaster by keeping its border closed

The Middleton is still going albeit up for sale. The octogenarian owner is wanting to move on.

    AULRO group purchase, perhaps?

T'would be a fine place to provide a 'Self Isolation Property' (SIP) for any border hopping AULROvers. See, back on topic!

More cases found at the Brisbane youth detention centre. At this point it is believed the 77 year old woman has been linked to the two young girls who flew home to Brisbane and lied on their COVID pass. That could change.

    Yep, popped in there recently.

A heads-up too, that the Toompine pub will be closed until this Christmas.

6 more cases, living in the following suburbs; Bundama, Carindale, Forest Lake, Marsden, & North Ipswich. Genomic testing is under way to determine the strain of the cases. The contact tracing teams have been active all night, Aged care homes have been closed down, hospitals have activated their COVID plans, and residents of the greater Brisbane area are restricted to no more than 10 at home or in parks. Here we go, 7,000 tested thus far , and more testing sites opened up. Only 6 positives so far. Spare a thought for the Woman at the centre of this outbreak, she only had a headache.

Protest to let me ride my bike on the right hand side of the road

Protests about masks, business closed, boards closed are possibly a reaction over the effective controls none of us enjoy or want. 4000+ in France ditto for Spain and others after people deciding restrictions are for other peoples not them

Those of us in a LOCK DOWN wish we were in QLD, WA, NT or South Oz. (Or Tassie or NZ) Sorry NSW

I read about way we all mostly agree to drive on the left hand side not where ever we choose to drive. I see this restriction as grossly unreasonable and want to organize a protest to let me ride my bike on the right hand side of the road and move to France, Spain or Italy Just joking of course.

"LONDON — For all of the challenges in controlling the spread of the coronavirus, Europe’s initial strategy was relatively straightforward: nearly universal, strictly enforced lockdowns. It eventually worked. And in the two months since most countries have opened up, improved testing and tracing have largely kept new outbreaks in check. With basic rules on wearing masks and social distancing, life has been able to resume with some semblance of normality. But in recent days France, Germany and Italy have experienced their highest daily case counts since the spring, and Spain finds itself in the midst of a major outbreak. Government authorities and public health officials are warning that the continent is entering a new phase in the pandemic.
