    Just luck I recon.

And also what is in the media is often incorrect or only part of what really went on,which doesn’t help.
Things also happen that are not reported in the media, particularly to do with jails and their operators, for security reasons.Which is fair enough.

I'm hoping the next review in late September will result in more postcodes outside Sydney being removed from the hotspot list, so we might go back towards the previous situation where only Sydney, or even parts of Sydney, are regarded as hotspots by Qld.
The problem is people travel out of hotspots to other areas and can spread the virus, but they are recorded based on the locations where they were infected, not where they travelled. For example, the people from Byron Bay who were infected at a funeral in Sydney, went home, got sick and were admitted to Lismore hospital, are in the Sydney figures, not those for Northern NSW.
If NSW could get its daily figures down to zero, like Qld has, opening up would be a lot easier. I'm sure everyone wants that.

I don't think that's correct, when that happened they were indicated as being at Byron in the NSW Health stats.

And they are recovered now, no more active cases in for Northern Rivers since that happened

    And Qld zero?
The last positive was only a few days ago. There are active cases still in SE Qld.

Huh Qld was reporting infections only a day or so ago- QLD does not want to open - as mentioned ACT not had community transmission in 150 days but QLD still thinks it is a hotspot (noting ACT infections early on all came from QLD) - more chance of getting infection in QLD than the ACT.

Other States are smarter and opening up travel bubbles with the ACT but not good ole QLD.

Sorry ,but can you provide some proof of that. I've searched and the ACT had their first cases from people returning from Melbourne. Also people returning from overseas. What actually did happen is a NSW resident drove to the ACT, and flew to Qld from there, when here they tested positive. That is the reason Qld declared the ACT a hotspot. From all reports nothing has changed at the ACT airport.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Qld reported zero new cases today. Previous cases are all from known sources. Qld will review its restrictions at the end of September, as is normal practice.

Qld still has 28 active cases as of today so close but not quite Covid free. I think the current definition of Covid free is no active cases and no reported cases for 60 days I think, so can't quite claim Qld is Covid free just yet - but I really hope you are very soon to add to other states and territories great work.

We still have a loooong way to go to get anywhere near that claim and I'm really worried about coming out of stage 4 here and if everyone just thinks that means business as usual and we see case numbers start to rise again.

The Qld CMO says she wants to see 2 x 14 days without new cases to take NSW and Vic postcodes off the Qld hotspot list, which will be reviewed the last week of September.
Regional NSW should qualify, unless there is a fresh outbreak, I think.
Hope so. We have family in NSW we haven't seen for 3 months.

Many of the very early cases came form Defence personal based in Qld visiting Defence but due to ACT Health action there was no community infection as a result. The Melbourne infections (the last in the ACT) were later and again due to ACT health action these were detected and no community transmission resulted.

Yes someone from NSW did go to QLD via the Canberra airport but stupid Qlders just let them in and not checked where they actually came from - like they did with the Bimbos - even though they had been in Melbourne - Qld is just blaming other jurisdictions for their own lack of checking - it is up to the receiving jurisdiction to check the bonafides of arrivals.

"No new cases" - Are we [all states] referring to community transmitted or ALL cases?

Unrelated - With the 27* [could be 2 or 3 zeros after] expats wanting to come home... Why not set a date ~3 weeks from now and quarantine them all in a detention centre offshore and then, if they pass the 2-3 weeks without testing + let them come home?
