Yeah, a throw-back to my days of doing 'merica-speak. In other forms of the language your version would be adequate .

COVID has mutated. [ according to this. I don't think it has been scientifically verified. ]

Coronavirus: Mutated virus strain spreading around the world

"Caucasian " does not indicate anything real. Why do we keep using it?

"To answer that question, it is helpful to understand where the term came from and its impact on our society. The term “Caucasian” originated from a growing 18th-century European science of racial classification. German anatomist Johann Blumenbach visited the Caucasus Mountains, located between the Caspian and Black seas, and he must have been enchanted because he labeled the people there “Caucasians” and proposed that they were created in God’s image as an ideal form of humanity.

And the label has stuck to this day. According to Mukhopadhyay, Blumenbach went on to name four other “races,” each considered “physically and morally ‘degenerate’ forms of ‘God’s original creation.’” He categorized Africans, excluding light-skinned North Africans, as “Ethiopians” or “black.” He divided non-Caucasian Asians into two separate races: the “Mongolian” or “yellow” race of Japan and China, and the “Malayan” or “brown” race, which included Aboriginal Australians and Pacific Islanders. And he called Native Americans the “red” race."

EDIT. Mukhopadhyay is indeed a person.

Thank you 4Bee, I'm being Politically Correct - for those sensitive souls who MIGHT stumble upon our Secret Society of Deranged Masochistic Addicts...and be "offended".

Plus it's a good alternative when you're in unknown (?) 'mixed company'. - can't possibly get into trouble with SWMBO.

(Actually, came from a previous employer and I use it in Remembrance, a Masochist who had a D2 (personal use) AND a Classic...- for business / 2 tonne 'Plant-Towing' vehicle. Only breakdown was a BOSCH ign. coil.)

    Just a heads up.

What will change at 1am Thursday 1 October 2020

Because of the reduced risk of COVID-19 transmission in northern New South Wales, the following changes have been made regarding the border zone:

    • The New South Wales border zone (PDF) will be extended
    • The Queensland border zone will no longer exist
    • Queensland residents will be able to travel anywhere in the New South Wales border zone for any purpose
    • New South Wales border zone residents will be able to travel anywhere in Queensland for any purpose.

The direction has also been updated to provide a right of entry to people coming to Queensland to respond to an emergency energy, drinking water, sewerage, liquid fuel, resources or telecommunications event.

They won’t get away with that here!!!
A sick day like that always comes with a mandatory certificate from a Dr, and if they don’t present it, they don’t get paid - simple.

So a day at the footy or whatever costs them $700

    A shrt Diversion...

Not trying to hijack the thread, but sometimes I think we - including me - need to lift the Quality of our Ranting....

This example of frustration... is an interesting read. Nope, not getting into a stoush as to how reliable he/they/Left Wing/Right Wing Press, is, but his choice of targets and how he gets stuck into them is a nice 'diversion' from the usual presentations in our media.
And there's no argument that a majority of journalists and their Editors are 'Technological Imbeciles'. e.g. Ship/boat speeds expressed as "knots per hour" Or a 'Ratio' getting a % sign added to it...

. I reckon that since he's got the background AND some $$$ great toys, he gets to snipe at both extremes of scientific arguments. - Then it morphs into Politics, but hey, he's 'Merican !

    Ditto here.
We're allowed one or two a year without a certificate and that's it, otherwise it's leave without pay

Agreed... There's a Medical Practice near me, replete with even more unpronouncable names.

And that, Ladies & Gennelmens, is a perfect example of sloppy presentation... misspelled... "Max Planck"

Similar in a Past Life. Self-accounted 'sickies' counted as one day of your "free" 5 per year, then Dr Certificates required per day(s).

    - But a Week off with Certificate for genuine Plague /injury.... counted as ONE of those Sick Days.
Worked well, kept everyone relatively honest.
