We got one here too but he is an Aussie. He traveled home to Aust from a family funeral in France to Aust. Got tested and before he got the result he traveled on to NZ and is now in self-isolation in Wellington. He was sitting in a cafe with his son when he got a call from his GP in Aust to say he was positive. Cafe has now closed as no-one wants to visit so business plummeted, and the hotel room he was originally in is apprently "double-locked" until proper cleaning can be done. He is currently suffering castration by social media.

Australian man says he visited Wellington with the 'best of intentions'

Meanwhile; it has been revealed that the person to be deported has to sit out a 2-week quarantine and then be deported. It'd be pretty irresponsible to simply place them on a plane and possibly infect other innocent passengers or place crew at risk.

Sure she knew what she was doing, same as the Aussie bloke. You don't need non-thinkers/lack of consideration for others types in NZ at this time, same as we don't need any here. It has been well publicised as to what they should do & it was sheer stupidity to travel before he got his test results.

    As for the Brit bird.
I'll bet London to a Brick that her accommodation & fares etc were all paid for & she wasn't going to miss out so off she went. Of course it was a conscious decision she made or totally arrogant or both.

I believe MOST Aussies, ALL Polies, medicos, most individuals etc are obeying "the rules" which are necessary to stem the spread of this evil disease. What worries me is that people in our community, people who "couldn't give a flying ****", just ignore warnings, just do their own thing, as I've said, just irresponsible "loonies", who, because of the ease of infection of this disease, will ruin the efforts of most of us to "obey the rules" & beat the virus. It only takes one irresponsible idiot, who by his actions can affect literally hundreds, then that "spreads" to thousands etc etc. China appears to be getting on top of things, I'm VERY doubtful that our society has the same discipline to get on top of things.

So this was the scene in Woolies Wynyard today.
Empty shelves for toilet paper, pasta, chocolate, noodles, tissues and pet food.
    Seriously?
I'm just gobsmacked by the stupidity.
We were there to stock up for several days in the Tarkine wilderness, so we were quite justified in our shopping.
So how does the bloke with six cartons of Pepsi Max explain his shopping habits?

My admirers, if I had any, would demonstrate their admiration with Bundy, chocolates or lasange; three commodities that are decidedly thin on the ground around these parts.

In your climate I'm sure they all would be thin on the ground & very messy.

When Aussies panic buy they go for toilet paper, pasta, noodles and sanitizer.
When Americans panic buy they go for guns - lots of big guns.
"You bad boys come for mah toilet paper, I'll blow youse away."

    Pickles.

Now you now have what the fear of the Firing Squad can do.

They also usually charge the rellies for the bullet or two as well & they get told to go & pick up the stiffs out in their donga somewhere.

And I'm stocking up for when I have to self isolate for fourteen days and the time it will take to get over the illness. About seven weeks ought to do it.
We can all justify our panic buying.
