The son and daughter in law of daughter's in laws. In America, Los Angeles. Tested positive, did their quarantine, last test negative. He works for the Commonwealth Bank in the USA, she was recovering from breast cancer. Affordable health care not a problem for them. Haven't heard if the breast cancer treatment interfered with the treatment at this stage. Last report they were OK.

Apparently it was because the residents of the Kalgoorlie goldfields petitioned London to be hived off as a separate State - London told WA to join the Federation or lose the goldfields.

The goldfields residents weren't from WA, they were skilled workers from the Eastern colonies and other parts of the Empire.

Someone with it was in the MLC Building's food court (off Martin Place) for an hour on the 15th - so that's conservatively a couple of hundred people who need to get tested and isolate.

There was a partition taken to London by Walter Griffiths on behalf of the Goldfield reform league but the Colonial Secretary Joseph Chamberlain refused to except it , but the vote for federation was approx 44000 in favor and about 20000 against . So London had nothing to do with it .

Most of Australia was immigrants in those days anyway .

The Western Australian delegates who attended the constitutional conventions of 1891 and 1897-98 were drawn for the most part from the traditional elements of Western Australian society.[12] Their approach to the notion of federation reflected the isolationist sentiments of their constituency. But these were not the sentiments of the goldrush settlers. When it became apparent that Western Australia might not join the proposed federation, the settlers formed the Eastern Goldfields Reform League. The Reform League began to agitate vigorously for the secession of the goldfields region from Western Australia and its integration into the Australian Federation.[13] At this point the British Colonial Secretary, Joseph Chamberlain, intervened to pressure Western Australia into joining the Federation. On 27 April 1900, Chamberlain sent the acting Governor of Western Australia a telegram alluding to the secessionist movement in the goldfields and advising the Governor that in these circumstances it would be in the best interests of the colony to join the Federation.[14] The loss of the goldfields would have been disastrous to Western Australia, both from an economic and a political viewpoint. Therefore, a Bill was hastily introduced into the Parliament of Western Australia providing for a referendum on the draft constitution.[15]

Where cost or convenience is not an issue, HCQ is the preferred option over quercetin. For example, Have heard that Canada has severely restricted the prescribing of HCQ, even for malaria & RA.

just a thought, if you dont want to see the relatives on xmas day, go get a covid test: "sorry, have to isolate while waiting for results"

Getting a bit tiresome , Chamberlain would not see Water Griffiths from the Reform league , the petition sent to Queen Victoria did however stir up enough angst to require Chamberlain to put pressure on the WA Parliament and John Forrest finely agreed to a referendum which resulted in WA joining the Federation , the main problem was that most of the people at the goldfields were a league of nations from eastern Australia and around the world of which the local yokals did not trust . The final decision to join the Federation was the result of a referendum not instructions or orders from any where else . Would however suggest that as the number's of the population favored the Goldfields , a yes vote would have been eminent .

Wonder what it would be like now if a no vote had won the referendum :oops2:.
