Here is a thread on the structure of the corona virus (most viruses similar) and lipids and why soap works. Also covers the handwash alcohol angle (they help but not as much as soap, the antibacterial part useless against a virus)
Worth a read and easy to understand.
Hope this helps people
Thread by @PalliThordarson: 1/25 Part 1 - Why does soap work so well on the SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus and indeed most viruses? Because it is a self-assembled nanopart…

Don't care how you say it, but you (everyone) needs to realize that this is not just a "health" issue,...it is a "WORLD" economy issue, that if not correctly, & UNMERCILESLY addressed, will have terrible, yes "TERRIBLE" consequences for all of us......too much drama from me?....I get that, but,......wait & see!...yeah, wait & see, what the consequences of an Aussie "Economy Meltdown" will be, and don't say, I didn't warn ya. Gotta say, I hope I'm wrong,....Pickles.
It would appear that the biggest effect the virus has had, thus far, is on modern day mentality?

I wonder how the population of today would handle something like the Cold War/ Cuban Crisis scenarios, of the '60s.
"Calm Down"?...No need to my friend, I am totally "calm", TOTALLY,.....I'm just trying to alert people to a situation that they haven't even thought of.,.....but which is totally possible,.....IF,....one considers the totally possible ramifications, which many haven't considered, of this new "situation".
I could "ramble", "rave on", but I won't,...waste of time,....if people don't wanna listen?, or think I'm over reacting,,...all good,....can't say I didn't at least try to warn ém!
But for those of us who are "advancing in years", and who do not rely upon ANY form of "Govt" support,.... no pension etc /no drain whatsoever on the public purse etc, the current prospects of a quite possible "financial meltdown" are frightening,....actually, thinking about it, EVERYONE should be concerned about the financial impact of "The Virus".
Wait & see, Pickles.
60s? That's over forty years off yet.![]()
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
have to agree 100% with you Pickles
the ramifications are already rippling through
the shockwaves to come won't be pleasant under a government not prepared, and there are some fairly ominous signs that they aren't.
not the end of the world but dammed interesting times it has to be said...... and there will be some big prices to be paid
read an article today where plague / pandemic scientists (i cannot remember the correct term used) are conservatively estimating the deaths worldwide to reach 42 million + in the short term based on the two strains that have evolved so far.
the second strain is more virulent than the first.
they predict the third and forth mutations will greatly affect the mortality rate as the virus adapts...
fun fun fun....
