The research lab is a level 4 lab set up to research the SARS virus. One of a handful of level 4 labs set up around the World, of which Australia has a couple, looking at the Hendra virus, mainly. Completely open and above board , subject to outside inspection. If China has a secret lab to make bio weapons it is highly unlikely the outside World would know about it. This theory has been proved wrong.
