Note that the tests described above detect the actual presence of the virus, or at least a distinctive part of its RNA. The main one is that they tell that you have been exposed to the virus sufficiently to produce antibodies. It does not mean you have been infected to the extent that the virus has multiplied in your body, whether you are, or ever have been or ever will be, infectious. This is similar to the "Mantoux Test" I had as a child for TB - it was to find whether I had been exposed to it, not whether I had it.

The other problem is that at least some of these tests that has already been deployed in some countries is apparently also detecting as false positives antibodies that are the result of infection with either of the two common coronaviruses that result in common colds. And as a result has a false positive rate of up to 30%.

Public testing centres have been set up in SE Qld and the restrictions on testing eligibility relaxed, so anyone should be able to drive in and get tested, not just those who have been overseas or in contact with a positive person.

Funny that I read a report yesterday (not from Fox) that further implicated the Wuhan lab. Who do you believe? The leftist ABC or the right-leaning Fox?

It might have escaped from a lab, but there is no evidence that it's a lab made virus.

True Ian. I don't trust their Govt at all but this virus has brought the nuttiest theories out of the cracks in the floorboards. Let's not mention Bill Gates, 5G or nanobot filled tracing and mind controlling vaccines...or deliberate release of the virus to allow Govts to increase powers and control or to form a World Government.

I think in many ways social media is one of the worst things to afflict the human race.

Gotta be some adversary to the ultimate far Left ABC,......and hey, I do believe we need an "ABC",.....of course we do, but IMHO one with NO political bias, one way or another.

Well maybe not yet, it is still early days. If it is there it will be found, unless the laboratory has flushed any evidence down the dunny. We should not count chickens before they are hatched IMHO.

Don't forget, the world is dealing with a country notorious for it's deviousness & lies.

No, not North Korea or the USA. This time.

Agreed mate. Still early days. Just no evidence yet. If it was from the lab, it will be very hard to prove.
