That's very unlike the last lockdown where the guy apparently covered almost the entire metro area while positive and gave it to nobody.
It could be an indication of just how infectious this Indian strain is. The West has done exactly the right thing , IMO.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I'm hanging to see if any further positives turn up. At least on the flight he'd have been wearing a mask.

One new positive community case on day one.

That would be because the last lockdown was caused by a false positive. I heard this from one of his Uber driving colleagues who had to go into isolation for over 14 days despite the original case being a false positive.

Not in this neck of the woods they haven't.
Went for a drive to Denmark ( South coast WA ) , hundreds of Perth Tourists down for the weekend , counted 2 wearing masks.
Spoke to a few business owners who are all ****ting themselves . The reason for that is because of the fact that the WA gov kindly gave everyone plenty of notice to do their usual halfwit routine of stripping the shelves of toilet paper before heading out to all the regional holiday destinations to potentially spread the virus.
I think the decision makers probably have holiday homes in the regions

Watching the news , I hear the comments about the streets of Perth being quiet and everyone outside wearing masks, doing the right thing blah blah.

Spoke to a couple of mates in Perth who were trying to drive home , disgusted with the panicked behaviour of people trying to get away , One said he'd officially lost any faith in humanity.

Icing on the cake was the local store owner telling me his staff were abused twice by people who were asked to sign in on entry.

Perth has always had more than its share of arseholes with an over developed sense of self entitlement ( apologies to the majority, but I lived there for 10 years ),but god help us if the **** really hits the fan.

Yes, bit of a rant and might be skewed but a lockdown is to stop the potential spread of the virus , the authorities giving plenty of hours of notice to let everyone get it out to the regions is bull****

Some news for those who have had or reckon they're gunna get the 'rona.

    - Having a (natural) dose of Wuhan DOES give you a long(er)-lasting resistance to getting it again, despite what the 'Jab-is-best-ONLY' brigade have been rabbiting on about.

Previous COVID-19 may cut risk of reinfection 84% | CIDRAP

Regarding the current House Arrest here in WA. That hotel where the initial cross-infection occurred is old, and in fairness it's HVAC system was not designed with quarantine for respiratory virus in mind.
Problem is, the Labor State government was aware the ventilation was a problem and thus unfit for purpose. But they still used it.

Bottom line is, we cannot rely on any State or Federal Government to 'protect' us, as their Cure is invariably worse than the disease.
    - So, it's off to the Quack for a Vit D test, and whatever advice to get yours up to a protective / useful level; Possibly the most cost-effective personal intervention, apart from not being T2 Diabetic, have heart disease, old, male, balding or too chubby.

Still, look on the Bright Side. No doubt WA State Gov is going to subsidise my son's income by paying his rent this week...and when they extend the House Arrest ... for another (?) week as well. He's in the hospitality industry..... or perhaps, 'Was'.

EDIT:- Been looking at suggestions that aerosolised faecal transmission is mooted as a possibility. Putting it delicately, your Throne may not be all that great at keeping more than the perfume from escaping..... IF that quarantine hotel has it's ventilation / exhaust fans from bathrooms feeding into a common extraction manifold... well, there's your inter-room transmission path. - Keeping the front door closed is not all that it's.... cracked up to be - IF the, um, 'Back door' (bathroom fan) connects two or more rooms together.
Great argument for shifting ALL quarantine from cheap inner city priso...- hotels... and into resort - style establlishments.

So, why waste time, money and effort getting a Vit D test? I reckon you’re going to take the Vit D supplement or sunbathe nude whatever the result, because who knows what the protective level is?

That is disappointing. I'm glad I live where I live.

There are always contraindications for some to any drug or vaccine.
Looks like the Pfizer one may have a 1:100000 reaction.
