Thread: Lockdown/Stay-in-place situation, What are you planning to do?

We escaped the lockdown this morning for a recreational/essential trip to the tip, with a trailer fully loaded with some household rubbish and a lot of greenwaste.
Most of it was because I cut down some trees so The Navigator could expand the vegie garden.
I had checked the Sunshine Coast Regional Council website which said tips were open but recycling centres were closed, so off we went.
Got to the entrance and the bloke said rubbish was essential, but green waste was not. He let me dump it anyway, after stinging me $16, and no seniors discount either.Lockdown/Stay-in-place situation, What are you planning to do?
Now I have another trailer load of greenwaste still to go, but I might let it sit until ScoMo decides to stimulate me again. Lockdown/Stay-in-place situation, What are you planning to do?

I took a 8x5 trailer load to the tip yesterday, only because I needed the trailer, cost me $3. The transfer station operator is my cousin, helps. Spent the rest of yesterday and today loading up tressels and planks, pressure cleaner, half a shed load of tools. Heading to queestown tomorrow to paint a house. should be in Alice about now
    cheers

Damm, my $3 is looking dam sweet then, never new it cost so much to go to the dump, my normal cost may have been 3 tip tickets, I only used one.
When I built my shed I had 10 x 10 yard tippers of green waste for no charge. 1 stump was a load by itself.
    cheers

Our local refuse station is a freebee, including green waste and our bottle return system is still a goer.

When we were in Brisbane the city council gave a swag of free tip tokens to residents, which was nice, but up here on the Sunshine Coast there are no free tokens.

I must have lived in the bush for far to long.
I have never heard of paying to go to the tip.
You sure this is not some sort of "Townie" joke?

No. Following the latest council amalgamation, the local tip closed, after threatening charges for a while, and now have to go another 20km, and that tip charges - but is closed for the duration of the pandemic.
