I installed a timer for my solar hot water booster switch, like this, extravagant I know at $200 from the big green shed hardware outdoor heater section, but that's what happens when people have too much time on their hands and can't really go anywhere!

Thanks but not needed as it is where you said you were escaping to, so you, appearing to be a man of your word I guessed that was your destination. Simples.

That other Beetaloo Reservoir up your way looks interesting also.

Ian, I'm thinking he may have gargled it & not dropped the bottle & if Mike had dropped it I reckon we might be looking at tongue marks in the dust.

Had to re-pot some orchids before the commencement of gallivanting around the place.

After thinking for some time (months) about how to remove a dead gum tree next to the drive I finally got a rope up into it and broke the top off. Next step of felling the main trunk was relatively easy but then came the problem of what to do about the stump. Its closeness to the drive was a problem so I thought I'd try burning it out. Well, after keeping the fire going for three days there didn't seem to be much progress but closer inspection revealed the centre had burnt down quite deep. I decided that the burning method was going to take too long so a bit of digging, root cutting and use of the 12000lb winch on the Landy eventually did the trick. Now we have an upside down stump as a (temporary) art piece where the original tree once stood.
The pictures probably tell a better story.

My son has talked me into taking a trailer full of household gear up to Carnarvon for him as he has moved up there for work in a couple of weeks.
He lives out of town a bit so I won't be "Mingling" with any people and the travel restrictions now allow this type of travel from Geraldton.
While I am there I will be taking the opportunity to fish and am looking forward to heading outside of Bernier island to tackle some rankin cod and a few pink snapper

Nice. Some pics in the Fishing Section would be appreciated. I'm hoping to get up to see my brother in Mackay soon and get out for some reef fishing in his boat.

When the olde boys here cleared the big stringybark roots they apparently chucked a handful of Gunpowder in & blew them up.

Back in the Colonial days here apparently one of my Ancestors was employed by the council to clear some trees from the parklands that surrounded the city of Adelaide. In the process he blew a tree stump up & a piece of the gnarled stump found him sheltering & killed him.

I gather procedures changed after that. Btw, those windows could have been great candidates for a hook or shackle if something went tits up.
