Welded on would be my choice but unfortunately that is a tad permanent. Even better IMHO would be Exploding Rims but you'd need to reset them prior to any servicing & buy new tyres each time they were tampered with. Could be a tad costly though.[bighmmm][bigsad]

Disco down [emoji28] taking dad to pick up his Disco yesterday. Not far from home, trans line vacated. Glad it happened nearby, in a safe place and with my dad in the car. I cannot drive a car with hands that isn't running as can't press brakes [emoji28] or turn wheel with 1 arm.
Dads Disco giving mine a rescue. No barb on new allisport trans cooler, so line just slid off basically. At least didn't happen on all the recent freeway drives [emoji15]
Hopefully not many days without my freedom machine. Planning camping trip with dad [emoji120]

They dump the fluid real quick, don't they.... Hope you didn't have to tow it far. Yes, the freeway would have been a bad place... Breaking down on freeways, even that one near you, is bloody scary as the traffic gives you no quarter.

I'm disappointed to hear that the cooler has no barbs. There has been some to and fro on here about the cooler lines on a D2. Some say there isn't much pressure. but I've had two blow in spectacular fashion. Not sure if you can get someone to TIG a proper connection onto it in time for your trip, but I'd look into getting that done sooner rather than later. Next time you might not be so close to home.

They sure do, dad had just been saying how nice my disco was sounding and going, and I had just said how i was going to book it in to get gasket replaced between trans and transfer case [emoji28] and then the old girl made an executive decision about it [emoji38]
Was on way to landie specialist and was only maybe 2km away from destination and 10 min from home.
But very thankful it happened where and how it did. Freeway is somewhere i never want to break down, they really do not have wheelchairs in mind for emergency pull overs at all. It's legitimately terrifying.
Going to add a barb onto the trans cooler. I really like the allisport one, I've had a much happier transmission but an upgrade like it is should have barb on it I think. Unless is meant to use a different hose fitting im not sure.

Hhmmmm some one slipped up. In my experience hoses of any sort ALWAYS need an expanded end to slipover & clamps after that.

Picture this if you can, Years ago at the Grosvenor Hotel (always a bit on the posh side) a plumber was tasked by the Co. I worked for then to replace all the Condenser water hoses on 6 package Email Air conditioners in their big Dining Room prior to Xmas that year. Was delayed for a couple of weeks b4.

Come Xmas DAY with the Dining Room chokkas with folk wearing their best bib & tucker & other fineries the hoses slipped off one by one & by the time I arrived the place was flooded.

No one there knew how to isolate the cooling pump so it was a case of another fine mess you've got me into Stanley". (Quote by Laurel & Hardy} as it was also emptying the Water Tower basin while also adding more fresh water. etc etc etc.



People were rushing around holding their Dinner plates complete with grub& were not going to miss their nosh up for anything & mayhem existed.


The point I am making is that if the plumber had expanded the end of the copper pipes & clamped them afterwards none of this would have happened & the hose would not slip straight off.

It doesn't need much to be secure but clamps alone won't do it when there is Pump Pressure involved. Any trace of oil on the stub end will spell DISASTER & POP!

I bet Father Xmas wore proper Wellies on that call.[bigrolf]

How's your brakes going?

Not great, after the 2 manual bleeds, powerbleeds, all the bleeds haha, still bad. Asked landie mechanic about it and definitely likely the master cylinder. I've been trying to find one that isn't britpart brand but not winning [emoji28] mine should still be under warranty though I think too.
