That would appear to be correct Brian. When buses took over they seem to have inherited the tram route numbers with a 1 preceeding, eg New Farm tram route being 78 became 178.

Uncanny event here watching this. I mentioned to Helen, at 17:20 into the vid, about the noticeable absence of 4x4s and, at 17:29, out pops the nose of a Series.[happycry]

Ian, sometimes the crew of a Race Special would have a bit of a joke. Races trams did not have a route no. just "race special" on the destination box. sometimes the crew would put GG up on the route board.

Just as well it behaved itself as there doesn't appear to be any Recovery Gear on it. Shirley there must be room to carry as a minimum a Tow Chain & a Pick & shovel?
