You should catch the 07 or 09 Valley Junction tram. The 109 is the Salisbury -Warner St. bus.[bigwhistle] The fare is sixpence. Get your mum to tie a zack in the corner of your hankie.

109 was any tramline route back to Light St., eg Toombul (Clayfield), Chermside (Lutwyche), Stafford, Grange, Bardon, Ashgrove, Salisbury or the City.

The buses today,still have 109 on them...

Bloody trams,you guys need to get up with the times,and,no its not a Trolly bus.[biggrin]

Although i have seen a few tram looking things down on the coast

Are you sure? I thought the trams had two character route numbers and buses had three.

That would appear to be correct Brian. When buses took over they seem to have inherited the tram route numbers with a 1 preceeding, eg New Farm tram route being 78 became 178.
Did trams and buses ply the same routes, simultaneously? Trams were before my time.
