Crikey Bob, no TV? You must've chewed through the data on YouTube?![]()
Every Xmas, along with just about the rest of Brisbane, we used to catch the tram to the Valley to look at the displays. Wonderful stuff. That was about the time we went to Lutwyche , grabbed some fish and chips, and sat outside the store that sold some the first TV's in Brisbane, and watched the TV in the window. Happy days!
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

The one I remember (apart from those mentioned above) is "Biggles". Introduced by the sound of a Merlin starting up.

Smokey Dawson was another. 'Portia faces Life' was my Mum's favourite. We didn't have electricity so my father would swap 2 batteries every so often from the car to the wireless.
I remember "Portia Faces Life", but not from my childhood - but from when I was working in rural and outback Queensland in the early sixties - had a car radio but there was never much choice of what to listen to!

It ran for 16 years from 1937 -1953. It is no wonder I grew up with it.

Looking at those you'd think I listened to Radio every day but you'd be wrong. Sometimes I would ride my 3 wheeler trike around while making truck noises & other times I would have a go on my swing that Dad installed in the olde Fig Tree.
