The problem was eventually resolved from my perspective when the local post office wrote a letter stating that the parcel had been delivered and had been tampered with. Luckily I had photos of the parcel and its contents once opened, I was suspicious that two brake rotors were a bit light. I got to be very familiar with eBays escalation process and their call centres.......

The problem with AP is if the package dose not require a signature & they deliver to wrong address they are relining on the person who received it to return it to the post office, a lot of people don't bother & keep it. We are always receiving mail that is addressed to some street that is nothing like our street name let alone same suburb or same state. At least every couple of months I am taking mail back to the PO. I keep telling them they need a post man who is not dyslexic.

When we lived in Karumba we were always getting mail for Kuranda & Katoomba?
Katoomba isn't even in the same state!
Of course our mail would also go to those towns. It could take weeks to sort out.
Doomadgee mail system is great, most stuff only takes 3-4 weeks.
I get letters telling me one of the kids has a medical appointment 2 weeks after the appointment date. I now have all that stuff texted to me.
Funnily stuff from Roverlord comes within a week to 10 days. He mast have a mate in the PO.

Try living in a suburb/town with the same name as one in another state. Confusion reigns supreme at AP even when the state and postcode are scribed in large bold characters.

Just to close this - the parcel has finally turned up but I am sure it was only as a result of my queries and the sellers queries with Aust Post.

One issue that might have thrown a spanner in the works but should not have is the seller put the wrong state in the address - WA instead of the ACT - however everything else was correct including the postcode - so in theory as the postcode is what sends the item on its way and the address is only used in the final delivery processes it should still have arrived on time.

However I suspect that the system identified the conflict between the State and Postcode and the parcel was pulled aside to resolve the issue.

Anyway - arrived now only about 3 weeks late.

    Thanks for all the input.
