A Brave New World! Or will it be?

This is Covid-19 related but not directly about it.
    Qustions:
Once the virus is controlled how will your life be different, or will it?
Once the virus is controlled how will Australia be changed, or will it?
Once the virus is controlled how will the world be different, or will it?

Unknowable but what do you think? Will you continue to work from home, should you be doing so, will it make us/others better? Will nations be less global? Will it make people or society more insular? How or will it change your life style?

I'm interested to see what people think.
Maybe in 12 or 18 months we can see how good a Nostradamus we were.

My one hope is that Australian politicians of all persuasions will realise they are there for the 'Good of the Nation', not their egos, entitlements, perks and pockets.
Will this happen? I don't think you need to be Nostrodamus, on this.

    I think that:

    * People will appreciate holidays more.
    * People will watch money more closely
    * People will do the things that they have always wanted to do, but have been putting off
    * The economy will take many years to recover
    * Life will never be exactly the same again
    * People will talk about this for years

After this is all over we will rise from the ashes, dust ourselves off and get back to normallity.
This is what Australians are bloody Good at.
Hopefully we will have learned to care and respect our neighbors because of this.

Our politicians have already recognised the need for our country to be more self-sufficient and self-protecting but I wonder for how many years it will last.

    Hi,
Yep, rebuilding so that stuff can be dual purpose.
e.g. hotels as part of a hospital overflow when needed etc.
    Cheers

    Nothing will change.

Seems that the majority of the populace is inherently selfish.
Small pockets of well intentioned people can never overcome this tidal wave of the majority.

This notion of 'working from home' .. all well and good for the 'look at me, fame seeking content creationist types'! ... doesn't relate to real world work, where goods and services need to actually be provided.

We can only hope that we wake up the fact that China has only one interest, China. We need to be more self sufficient and reduce if not eliminate foreign ownership of our land and industry. Foreign investment yes, capped at a max of 30% and taxed to an appropriate level that allows them some profit but the shared good helps Australians first.

I agree the work from home is, for most people a bit of a ****. Both myself and my son have been doing it and the isolation and lack of social interaction would, in the long run be counter productive.

At leat you can still go for a fish in NSW - for now
