I know what you mean, I havent lived there permanently but had a couple of brief jobs there with the army.

It's the same lizard as far as I know.

I might try your method...it is humane isn't it?

Have you got the little bastards in Whyalla? I've never noticed when I'm down that way.

    Haven’t seen any around Whyalla.

The Baygon method is ok if you aren’t holding a cigar lighter flame in front of the can when you spray them. Don't you hate it when some people know it all?

Mate - love it here. Moved here 15 years ago after coming up here for work trips.

No Red dust issues for over 10 years
150m to the beach from my house
    Ocean views
    Great fishing
    Flinders Ranges 45 min away
Great offroad driving 5 min away

Day trips to Gawler Ranges, Flinders, Lincoln, Coffin Bay, West Coast SA.

Only bit that sucks - no Bunnings within 2.5 hours. (So that’s a good day trip too)

    Hello All,

Over the weekend I was talking to a 20 something year old male about towing capacity, motor vehicles and car trailers. He insisted he had towed his mates GU Patrol with his Toyota Hilux from the Gold Coast to Bundaberg. This task was accomplished just by using a standard U-Haul trailer. According to them a GU Nissan Patrol weighs in at 4 tonnes by the way!

I asked him to repeat the weight - yes I heard correcly the first time. A GU Nissan Patrol comes in at a weight of 4 tonnes. I was treated like a right dill by asking him to repeat it.

Funny how the International 1973 D-Series 1210 Four wheel drive van I had weighed on a weighbridge only weighs in at 2.56 tonnes. It was so hard not to shake my head when I walked away. But I knew better to point out the comparative weights between a GU Patrol and a D-Series Inter and the difference in size, capacity (GVM) and yes, TARE weight.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

I was asked if using Baygon was humane.
I responded by eluding that as long as it wasn’t used as a makeshift flame thrower it would probably be alright.

Closest I’ve got to that was a gallon of 91 Octane down a fire ant hole and a match.

    It was spectacular

Many, many, many years ago we took a couple of weather balloons and some Acetylene tanks to Silver Sands beach.
Dug a big hole, inflated the balloon with acetylene and places in hole.
Remote fuse trigger Don't you hate it when some people know it all?

It was most impressive. Round 2 was even better, we got the mushroom cloud. Don't you hate it when some people know it all?
